Secured Printing will allow you to print document securely, by requiring you to enter a PIN on the printer in order to print. Setting it up is very easy and will be done right on your own computer.
- Click the Start Menu.
- Choose Devices and Printers on the right-hand side of the Start Menu.
- Right click on the Canon printer of your choice, and choose Printing Preferences.
4. The below window will pop up. You simply need to change the “Output Method” from Print to Secured Print.
5. Once you choose Secured Print, you will have a dialogue prompting you to accept the change and setup a PIN.
6. Next you will enter a PIN, which can be anything from 1 to 9999999. Click OK when complete.
7. When you click OK on the PIN setup, your “Output Method” will now show Secured Print. Click OK or Apply.
Note: If you had any applications open that you want to print from right away, you will need to close them for the new print settings to automatically apply.
8. Finally, at the printer, you can find your prints by clicking on the Secure Print button on the Main Menu.
- Touch the document that you want to print, then touch Secure Print on the bottom right.
- Enter your PIN and press OK. Your documents will start printing
Note: If you have multiple prints queued up, you can touch each individually or choose Select All on the bottom left corner.
